Eregil's Poetry
From a Sad Man to Another
Info: This sad short poem was my dedication to Vincent for his birthday on October 13th, 1999. I speak to Vincent trying to let him know that I support him for being able to relate to him, and that I and all the others who love/like/admire him are with him for the time being.
Back and Forth
Info: Again, a dedication to Vincent for his birthday next year, on October 13th, 2000. Rather than explicitly sympathizing with him, this time I tried to express a feeling of frustration from his own point of view (it's Vincent speaking in this one), as after being able to escape from his coffin and his nightmares, he sees that reality isn't so different to his nightmares, and the outside world is no different to his coffin as he still can't control his anger and avoid killing and feeling guilty, as he still feels in chains having to fulfill his fate. Which lock is stronger, the one Cloud opened to free him, or the one he can't see, which makes him the hand of death over and over again, after realizing as a Turk he had been just a murderer, after realizing that killing an innocent creature is wrong? Do the ones he kills deserve death after all...?
