Fics with a pre-game setting
My 'double fic' on Vincent and Sephiroth's backgrounds...
or Bright Kiske's saga...

Guiding Principle: While the first one has Vincent in his Turk days for main character, and the second has Sephiroth, SOLDIER First Class, the two fics are closely interconnected, as they feature an original character who, after a somewhat secondary role in Sinners, becomes very important in The Day, which is, in fact, mainly based on the relations between Sephiroth and him. This character's name is Bright Kiske, and he's surely enough the character I'm most proud of having created. Going through both fics, the reader can either choose to focus on the main characters of each (Vincent, Sephiroth) and read their stories as they are explicitly told, or try and figure out Bright's, by many intuitions, little by little, as it's told by small references (possibly obscure and hard to notice in some spots) that you can find even when he's not in the scene. Whichever way you read the fics, I hope you enjoy them... and give some feedback perhaps. ;o)
Let the Sinners Pay
Main character: Vincent
Plot: Fleming, top ranking member of SOLDIER, is engaged in a duel and killed by Bright Kiske, a mysterious rebel to the ShinRa. Vincent, a member of the Turks who is underestimated by the President, is assigned by the head of Peace Preservation to avenge this murder.
Info: Five chapters, completed March 1999. This is probably the fic I wrote with the most passion, being a version of my favorite character's background. :-)
The Day the Spirits Said Goodbye
Main characters: Sephiroth, Bright Kiske
Plot: Wutai troops tried to invade the ShinRa territory, but SOLDIER sent them back to their lands. Now the President is about to order an invasion of the Wutai continent. Sephiroth is eager to fight there, but for some reason they won't let him leave for war...
Info: A four-chapter-long prologue, then the real thing in a single chapter plus an epilogue. Weird ne? ^_^;;; Completed October 1999. A sequel to Let the Sinners Pay set 22 years later, when Vincent is asleep.

Main character: Aeris
Plot: At the Ancient Capital, Aeris has prayed for Holy. She lifts her head, opens her eyes...
Info: Single chapter, all written using my favorite technique, the stream of consciousness, while watching the FMV with Aeris' death several times. It's probably my most appreciated fanfic. Completed March 1999 as a gift fic for Aeris_15, but then, well... some more site owner liked it ^_^;; so... among my fics, it's the one you can find in the most sites nowadays ^_^;;;; I couldn't say no ^_^;;;;;;; still I wrote it for you Kristine! *grin* *flees*
Seven More Days
Main character: Vincent
Plot: How Vincent spent the last days before Meteor's strike, wondering why he should keep fighting.
Info: Drama style, in three chapters. Completed May 1999. This is one I received some good feedback on and... well, I think it's very deep in its own way. It's not even as long as my double fic, so why not read it? ^^

Plot: After the defeat of Sephiroth, the discovery of a new menace to the Planet is the reason for more fights for AVALANCHE... but also the occasion to get to know each other better.
Info: Near-drama, seventeen scenes (not including battles), split up into four parts. Completed February 1999, my first attempt at fanfiction. I tried to keep the same style of the game itself at least for some aspects. You be the judge. ^_^
